Word of the Day Monday (Emprise)

Emprise (Noun, em-PRYZE)- An adventurous, daring, or chivalric enterprise.

“But perhaps he was the only one courageous enough to voice an opinion that others might have shared, but were afraid to say, that this whole quixotic emprise had been a bad idea, that they had been fools to attempt an escape.” — John D. Lukacs, Escape From Davao, 2010

Futile

He fought for her

An emprise act of love

Quenching all her desires

Igniting all her fires

Giving into the lust

But for it was futile

She would not love

She only used his trust

For only her needs were to be filled

His lost along the way

With all her lies

This failed act of Emprise
