It’s all in the details (black and white photography)

Took this while sitting and taking a load off at the Fall Festival in Sister Bay, Wisconsin.
Recently we made our way up to Door County in Wisconsin, away to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We had a lot of fun and she did some shopping and also made our way up to Washington Island. This island is just off the tip of Wisconsin in Lake Michigan; it is a gorgeous place with plenty of Fall colors to brighten up the rainy day.
We decided to take the car over on the ferry. Normally they would have a trolley to take you around but because of the rain we took the car. It was a good decision and made it easier to see more places around the island and just explore instead of following the tour.
This was one of our first stops to take photos along the way, most of the roads are like this with the trees covering them and providing an amazing view.
The pictures above are in reverse order but yes you had to take stairs up a bluff to reach the observation tower to see the amazing view. It was rainy but the view was nothing short of awe inspiring.
The Washington Island trip was simply amazing and would recommend it to anyone that gets a chance to make it to the area. We had an amazing time.

I took this photo the other day of a chandelier at a wedding venue
This is a photo I took and decided to add some words to go with it, I don’t do this very often but thought it was fitting.
Took a walk for a 48 mile change that I’m doing in September for military vets to help with PTSD and suicide prevention. I have 8.48 miles in so far so I have a few to go, but not to bad for being 3 days in…I’ll keep chugging along.
Today I did 5.29 miles and did a long walk around the a big block in town, so I decided to take some photos during my walk.
I love taking black and white photos and I can walk the same path every day and find something new to take a photo of that catches my eye.
Today I went down to Milwaukee to work for the day; and on the way to lunch I was able to stop at a bridge and take a couple shots of the Milwaukee area, that is Milwaukee Wisconsin.
In the second photo I captured a few people enjoying the beautiful day and taking kayaks out.
Milwaukee was recently voted one of the ugliest cities, so I think it is nice to show the nice side of the city.
The other day I shared a little nostalgia with a poem, so today I thought I would share a little photo nostalgia. I took this photo in 2017 at a little piece of the Wolf River in Wisconsin….my home state.
Guarded
Flowers beyond reach in a field surround by the city streets,
a fence guards them
Guards then from the urban sprawl
Wild they grow
Far from trampling feet
Let them grow beyond this fence
Let their beauty show
