A Walk in Black & White

Took a walk for a 48 mile change that I’m doing in September for military vets to help with PTSD and suicide prevention. I have 8.48 miles in so far so I have a few to go, but not to bad for being 3 days in…I’ll keep chugging along.

Today I did 5.29 miles and did a long walk around the a big block in town, so I decided to take some photos during my walk.

Yes, it is pointing at me, but I’m going against the grain

I love taking black and white photos and I can walk the same path every day and find something new to take a photo of that catches my eye.

A walk to Lunch

Today I went down to Milwaukee to work for the day; and on the way to lunch I was able to stop at a bridge and take a couple shots of the Milwaukee area, that is Milwaukee Wisconsin.

In the second photo I captured a few people enjoying the beautiful day and taking kayaks out.

Milwaukee was recently voted one of the ugliest cities, so I think it is nice to show the nice side of the city.

Flowers beyond reach in a field surround by the city streets,

a fence guards them

Guards then from the urban sprawl

Wild they grow

Far from trampling feet

Let them grow beyond this fence

Let their beauty show

The Factory

I was driving to the store yesterday and just thought I should take a picture of this salvage area near our house. I drive by this place a lot and have always had a fascination with industrial sites for photos.

I only had my phone with me and had to park across the street but I thought this turned out pretty good.

A Day to Chill

Well, I took a day off from work and just did what I wanted. That included taking some photos, writing and visiting my beautiful wife at work to have lunch with her.

It was so relaxing, I think we all need a day where we just do that for ourselves…just a creative day, whatever you want to create.

So I started my creative day by heading down to a place called Lusk Park in Appleton. It was nice and relaxing and I just took some photos and wrote the poem I posted earlier. Here are some photos from there…it was a monotone kind of day so I did most of my photos in some form of monotone.

After the Park I went and had some lunch with my wife…Jersey Mike’s Subs….yum, my favorite sub place.

Where she works is near the Fox River so I decided to walk down some steps to see what I could find down there on the Fox Trot Trail.

It was a wonderful day even though it was pretty windy…so if you get the chance to take just a day for yourself, do it. It is some of the best therapy money can’t buy.

Another New Page

I have created another page that showcases color photography. I decided to do this as well because some things shine so much better then black and white and need that splash. My photography is going to start becoming more predominant in my work; it is my first passion.

The photo below is a walk I took yesterday in a town called Oshkosh…I know most are thinking of Oshkosh B’Gosh…lol.

I decided to blend some color with the black and white, give the splash of color to the photo…blue is my favorite color so I added a splash of blue.
