The Cuddle (A Writing Prompt)

The Prompt: “cuddle with me for a minute.”

The Cuddle

“Cuddle with me for a minute” she said. John looked over as Michelle laid on the couch. She had just got some bad new about her friend Jess. Jess had been killed in a car accident, this devastated Michelle and John knew she wasn’t in a good place right now. “Let me just finish getting these vegetables cut up for supper” Michelle interrupted him “Just for a minute babe, I really need you loving arms around me now” John nodded, he understood how she was feeling, he had recently lost a good friend of his a couple of weeks ago and it just wrecked him.

He put the knife down and came over to the couch and put his arms around her. She began to weep gently, it was killing John to see her this way and held even tighter.

I have an amazing husband, Michelle thought to herself, I can’t believe I was having an affair with Jess while he was out of town last week. It just happened. Jess came over to help keep her company while John was out of town and one glass of wine too many is all it took for her to succumb to her best friends wants and desires. They ended up spending the entire night in her marital bed. The rest of the week was a blur and full of sexual escapades that Michelle never knew she was capable of and even involved Jess’s husband Mike, Johns best friend.

“Thank you babe” she said as she looked up at him. “Your arms feel so good and comforting and help a lot, I love you”, John smiled and said “I love you too”.

John smiled and thought, if only she knew that me and Jess were together a couple of weeks ago; and not in just a friend type of way. He and her had met each other at a bar one night and one thing led to another and him and her had sex in the back of their car. He didn’t mean for it to happen but sometimes things just do. He felt so guilty he made up a story about having to travel for work to get his mind straight.

Both of them sat for a long time in each others arms before John said “I need to get supper finished but I promise we will sit and cuddle for as long as you need to have we are done”. Michelle agreed and watched as he went back into the kitchen. Yes, she had an amazing husband, she smiled at John. John smiled back and thought to himself, I have such an amazing wife.

Writing Prompt (Turbulent Flight)

Turbulent Flight

Mark looked up at the screens in Austin Straubel Airport, his flight to Florida was on time, he would soon be on his way to a much needed vacation in the Florida Keys. He was ready to leave the snow and cold for the warm beach and ocean of the Florida Keys. The airport was empty at six in the morning and the snow was blowing outside.

Walking up to the gate he was greeted by a young woman in the airlines uniform and took his boarding pass and welcomed him aboard, he smiled and said “Thank you, I can’t wait to leave this winter weather for the warm beach,” the woman smiled and said “I wish I could go too, hope you have a great vacation”. Making his way through the aisle he noticed that the plane was pretty empty and the stewardess told him he could pick a seat anywhere and spread out and be comfortable. Packing his carry on above he started to feel the relaxation already setting in and smiled as he sat down by the window and looked out, smiled and thought goodbye snow.

The pilot came over the intercom and welcomed the few people on the airplane welcome and told them they would be taking off shortly and to sit back and relax, turn off their cell phones and just enjoy the flight. As the airplane rolled down the taxiway Mark put his headphones and zoned out and fell asleep. He never minded flying and this was one flight he was going to enjoy.

The flight was going well until the pilot came over the intercom and told the passengers to put their seat belts on as they were going to encounter some turbulence and it could get a little rough. The seatbelt and the airplane started to bounce around, but something wasn’t right about this turbulence, all of the sudden the plane dropped and seemed to be in a nose dive. Mark grabbed on to his seat and could feel himself being pulled to the back of his seat, the overhead popped open and things started to fall all over the place. He was covered by his bag that opened and his most personal stuff started to fall out, apparently the zipper came loose somehow.

His boxers and socks were floating around as the airplane all of the sudden went up, they were starting to experience negative g’s, going in an up and down porpoising. His panties, yes he had packed panties and jockey shorts slapped one lady in the face, his face turned red with embarrassment and fear. All of the sudden one of his sex toys bopped this young women along side the head. He started to hope that they crashed, he didn’t want to have to explain this to anyone when all of the sudden the plane settled out and the pilot came over the intercom and told them he was sorry about that and they were going to continue on to their final destination as all looked good from here on out…he sighed a big sigh of relief and then he felt the shake of the stewardess who told him to put on his seat belt as they were about to hit some turbulence. His face was full of shock and horror.

Writing Prompt Friday (Photographs)

I had to go through some boxes after my grandfather had passed away, I was heart broken by his passing and was fighting back the tears. He was a kind man who had taught me so much about fishing, music and life in general. He had passed away from cancer and I wasn’t there to be with him in his final days.

As I started to go through some boxes and came upon a photo album. I opened it up and realized it was a photo album that contained pictures of me and him. There were photos of him holding me as a baby; I was the first grandson. There were also pictures of me with a creel of fish and my fishing pole…I don’t remember when this picture was taken but I was very young and all the memories just came flooding back.

My eyes welled up as I went through all of the photos of me and him…I knew I would keep this for myself. The photographs would be the constant reminder he was with me always.
